DNA for both the BAC library and the WGS sequence was isolated from blood provided by Alan Mootnick (Director, Gibbon Conservation Center, Santa Clarita, California) from a female named Asia (international studbook #0098), The CHORI-271 BAC Library was constructed by Boudewijn ten Hallers and Baoli zhu in Pieter deJong's laboratory (BACPAC Resources, Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute). DNA was sequenced using Sanger methods by the Baylor College of Medicine Human Genome Sequencing Center, and the Genome Center at Washington University. The genomic sequence was assembled by Sante Gnerre and David Reich (Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT) using the methods described (Genome Biology 2009; 10(8):R88). The mitochondrion was assembled by Yue Liu (BCM-HGSC) using Phrap (http://www.phrap.org); reads with similarity to mitochondrial sequences were assembled using Phrap with default parameters. Funding for the sequencing of the white-cheeked gibbon genome was provided by the National Human Genome Research Institute, National Institutes of Health (NHGRI). ##Genome-Assembly-Data-START## Assembly Method :: Arachne Assembler, assisted with Human NCBI build 36 (UCSC hg18); Phrap for mitochondrial sequences Assembly Name :: Nleu_3.0 Genome Coverage :: 5.6x in Q20 bases Sequencing Technology :: Sanger ##Genome-Assembly-Data-END## FEATURES Location/Qualifiers source 1..1353 /organism="Nomascus leucogenys" /mol_type="genomic DNA" /isolate="Asia; international studbook 0098" /db_xref="taxon:61853" /sex="female" /tissue_type="blood" BASE COUNT 298 a 308 c 428 g 319 t ORIGIN 1 cagtgagacc ctgccttaaa aaaaaatcag catttttggt agagtcattt ggtcttgaaa 61 ataactattg gccgggtgtg gtggctcatg cctgtgcact ttgggaggcc aaggcgggtg 121 gattacctga ggtcgggagt tcaagaccag cctgacaaac atggagaaac cccgaccccg 181 tctctactga aaatacaaaa ttagccgggc atagtggcgc atgcctgtaa tgccagccac 241 tctggaggct gaggcaggag aatcgcttga acctgggagg cggaggtgga ggcggaggtt 301 gtggtgagcc gagattgcac cgttgcactc cagcctgagt aacaagagcg aaactctgtc 361 tcaaaaaaaa gaaagaaaat aactaaaatg cccgccctgc atggcttctg tggcctgcct 421 gtccttgcag tcgtggcact gcagccccag gtctgagtgg ggctgcagct gtctatgctg 481 gggctgcaca aatccagact cctgtgggca aaattctttt aattgtgttg cattttgagc 541 ccttgaatta atcctttgtg gcttggcttt tttgtgggtg tccctcttga tctctgggaa 601 ggacgggatc taggccatag cttaatttcc catgttgttt ttattcacaa agtaggtgtg 661 cacacttgcc agattgctga agctcatcaa acctgtatgt gtgaaagact gagcatgaac 721 caaaacctga gggaagaaac ccttgtggag gccacatggt cagcagagaa gagggcctga 781 ggcctccacc atactcacag gcctctcagg ctcaccgtgt ctgtttatgg tggggtttaa 841 gggggaggcc cggtgtcctc gtgtggggtt ggccactgtg accagccacg accacagcct 901 cttgctgagg cttagacagt gcctccattg tatagaaagc gctttgttac ttgtcttttt 961 gggcaaagtg cggctcaagg tctccttggg agctttgccg agagccagtg tcggagctag 1021 tggcaggtga cagagttgct ctgggcaggt gttgtgtggt catgcccagg tgagagactc 1081 gggttttcag gggtctttta gtgaacggag gaacccaggt gctggggctt caatgctgag 1141 gggtgaaatt accatggact gagcttcagt gaggcactgc agacctgcag agagcagggg 1201 ccaggaggcg gctctcacgc tggactgtcc accctccagg acagtgggcc tgggaagttg 1261 agggggacag gaacaggggt gggctgactc ccggcaggag gccccaaggg cagtcgccgt 1321 ggggaggatt tggtgtaggg cagggctgtc tgt //
