Northern blots indicate that the complete mRNA (approximately 4.5KB) is longer than the sequence in this entry. The complete mRNA may have a long 5' untranslated region. There are stop codons at all three reading frames in front of the coding region given in this entry, as well as a kozak-like sequence in front of the ATG. The protein expressed from this ORF is functional by in vitro and in vivo assays. The predicted protein sequence also has all the structural components when aligned with other similar proteins.
